Set up the second sign-in step when it is required

Your administrator can make a second sign-in step necessary. Then you must set up an authenticator app or a passkey before you can use the workspace.

What you see

After your password, the system shows the Security page with the message "Your administrator requires a second sign-in step." The navigation is not available. You can set up the second step, change your password, or sign out.

Steps

1. Select Set up the app or Add a passkey.
2. If the Confirm it is you dialog opens, type your Password. Then select Confirm.
3. Do the steps of the set-up. See Protect your account with an authenticator app.
4. Caution: You see the recovery codes only one time. Save the codes before you continue.
5. Select Done.

Result

The system shows the home page. From now on, sign-in asks for the second step after your password.

If you cannot set up the second step

• You need a phone with an authenticator app, or a device that can keep a passkey.
• If you cannot do the set-up, ask your administrator for help.
